What is the Permanent Make Up?
Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique known also as a micropigmentation, a revolutionary technique which employs pigments in to the dermis designing resemble makeup, such as eye lining and other permanent enhancing colours to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo or for those who are simply unhappy with their brows shape. It is also used to restore or enhance the breast’s areola, such as after breast surgery.
What is the difference between permanent makeup and semi-permanent makeup?
There is no difference between them. It is described as Semi Permanent as natural pigments are used which may fade with time, but the pigment will remain permanently within the skin.
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a manual method used to deposit small amounts of ink in the superficial layer of the skin. It is considered to be a semi-permanent tattoo and it lasts for 12-18 months, depending on different factors. You may enjoy your perfect, naturally looking brows for much longer if appropriate maintenance is scheduled, every 6-12 months to saturate the pigment and also little corrections to the shape may be made.
How is the procedure carried out?
A minimum of 24 hours prior to the treatment start, a pigment patch test is required. It is performed by placing a tiny amount of pigment into the skin usually in the hairline behind the ear. This needs to be performed to make sure there is no allergy to the pigment. On the day of the permanent makeup treatment the very deep consultation is carry out about your health, discussion in detail about your expectations and will make sure that new look created is exactly what you desire. Any suggestions regarding enhancement your beauty will be offered on the faith on your skin tone and face shape. Crucial to the procedure is the follow up or retouch appointment carried out 4-6 weeks later to saturate more pigments.
What should I do to prepare for my procedure?
There is no special preparation required. Although leaving your eyebrows alone for a week (no tweezing, waxing or otherwise removing the hair) would be recommended.
Does the process of Permanent Makeup hurt?
The most important for me is that you are comfortable during the procedure although there is some discomfort associated with it. A topical aesthetic before and throughout is applied on the treated area. Most of my clients describe the feeling as slight scratchy sensation or they say it is similar to getting threaded that disappears after anaesthesia.
How I will look straight after the treatment and how long it does take to heal?
Straight after the treatment the treated area can become red and swollen which will dissipate within two hours after. Regarding eyes and lip procedures you may experience swelling on eye liner and on the lip as the skin is very thin and sensitive in this area. This will only last a day or two, then the crust that forms will start to flake away revealing a lighter and more natural colour. Your eyebrows will appear darker initially which will fade with the next 5-10 days, after those days they may appear lighter for up to 70%.
Healing time varies from person to person and mainly depends on your skin sensitivity. Usually it takes about a week to 10 days for the skin to form and peel off. Then the pigment needs some time to settle into the skin. At least 4 weeks needs to pass before we consider our retouch appointment.
